We are the 18th St Albans (Tyler) Scout Troop, part of the 18th St Albans Scout Group. We are an active and energetic Scout Troop providing traditional and modern Scouting activities to over 30 young people between the ages of 10 and 14.
We meet on a Thursday evening between 19:45 and 21:15 at the Scout Hut on Hall Heath Close during term times, though you will often find us out and about engaged in various activities from camping to wide-games, cooking to rock-climbing or even canoeing and karting.
Our Scout Leader is Simon Thurlby who is supported by an excellent group of assistant Scout Leaders – Andy, Paul & Dave, along with a number of regular parent helpers. The successful operation of the troop is only possible with the help of many parents and supporters and we are always on the lookout for more supporters. Our thanks to Lucy for all of accounts and administration work to keep the troop running smoothly.
Tyler Scouts uses Online Scout Manager for our electronic records management; this system includes a parent portal where you can update your Scouts details, check program details, sign up for events, make payments and see the progression of badgework. If you have not received your invite to this system, please contact Simon.
